You Ask The Supplement Questions, We’ll Answer Them!

JT Caceria – Got his start in the early 90’s at GNC in Chicago… while it never quite paid enough for him, he loved working in the industry. Anyone who knows him will tell you it is tough to keep him down – while working at GNC, he got certified as a personal trainer and moved to Venice Beach to begin mastering his tradecraft. SUPP-FREE
& HATING IT

Q:I’ve been going without supplements for almost 4 months now. I guess I just wanted to see if they made a real difference, and if I was just wasting my money. I have definitely noticed that I do not feel as good without them – what I mean is, I don’t feel as strong, and I am not making gains like I used to. I am looking to go back on, but am unsure what to get… Recently, a friend told me about Super Test™, which is a new supplement that is supposed to increase muscle mass. So, I ordered a couple of tubs of it to try. Any word on how this supplement works?

A:I have actually heard some good things about this product by The Beast Sports Nutrition… the most important being that people are getting really good results from it. Super Test™ is a unique supplement in that it covers a lot of ground in a small package – what I mean is, wrapped up in this little pill is a blend of 10 different testosterone-boosting compounds, an NO compound, an anti-estrogen compound, a DHT suppressor, and a liver detox element! Simply put this stuff is pretty amazing – you only need to try it to see what I’m talking about. If you want to take it to the next level, Super Test™ stacks really well with a CEE product and some TridenosenH™.

To sum up, Super Test™ is a good product and one you should be happy to use coming out of a supplement hiatus. I don’t blame you for trying to stay off of them, but obviously, you couldn’t be that happy if you went back to them. They really do enhance your training and results curve, whether in a small or substantial way. I highly recommend supplementing of some kind. You just can’t get it all in your diet.

POST-SUPERDROL
CYCLE
THERAPY

Q:I just finished a cycle of a product called Superdrol™. I gained 15 pounds and am really strong. Now, after taking it, I need something really good for PCT [Post Cycle Therapy]. Any suggestions?

A:Superdrol was a great product, I say “was great” because it is no longer available – when you are ready for your next cycle, you may want to try something like ProMagnon-25™, or one of the Trenbolone precursors out there.

As for PCT… well, Nolvadex or Clomid can help, as can Milk Thistle. If you don’t want to take actual drugs, take Novadex XT™. It isn’t Nolvadex, it’s a 6-oxo or 3, 6, 17 androstentrione, and a really good estrogen blocker. You can also take HCG as well. You may also want to look into a product called Liver Longer™. Also, pick up some Sylmarin and Taurine for energy, since waning testosterone can create a lack of energy. Maybe a Sugar free Red Bull will carry you.

Something to keep in mind… Prohormones are still almost as active in aromatization as steroids, so finding a good combination for yourself is important.

TRAIN ON AN
EMPTY STOMACH?

Q:I’m curious, if I were to train on an empty stomach - as sometimes it seems I do - can supplements be a good buffer for a lack of food?

A:I’m not sure if, by supplements, you include whey protein, but you should. But let’s say you didn’t mean that... I always recommend you eat something prior, because you need the fuel. True, you work off of the glycogen that directly feeds the muscles, but you need to feed your blood sugar/energy levels too, and that’s where immediate food comes into play. If you “hit the wall” during a workout, no matter how amp’d you are for your training session, you won’t be able to do it.

Any kind of pick-me-up will do - a small piece of fruit, or some slower releasing carbs such as a yam. But supplementation can take you into a great place for training if you don’t have access to solid food or haven’t packed any. I usually try to get in a “super shake” which is my own personal mix of some Whey Protein (Designer Whey™ Protein or another), a carb supplement, such as “Carbo Gain (NOW), some nitric oxide (NO-Xplode™), some creatine (try the new CEE), and drinking it about 30 minutes prior to training.

SNORTING
EPHEDRINE

Q:Can you snort ephedrine? What would happen?

A:Well, first you have to find it. It is available in small doses in cold medicines still, but has been ripped from the market in sports supplements for about two years. Luckily, that was recently overturned, but no one knows what’s going to happen with it on a permanent basis. So it is legal to obtain it now, so I guess it would be legal to snort it. Then again, it wouldn’t be one of the most intelligent things to do. And, if you want my opinion, you are sounding like a meth addict in the making! Put a trailer into the equation and you have a full blown hillbilly profile. But, to answer your question directly, if you snort it, it will not only sting like crap, it will hit you VERY hard and fast. It could be dangerous as a result. Your heart would likely flutter a lot in the beginning and you’d probably get a headache. The good news is, it wont last that long. Bottom line: Hard hitting/Intense but Short. Make sure you know what’s in it though, and make sure you’re not allergic.
